I am so excited to share this little tutorial with you.. This year I really wanted to get dressed up as a witch but in pink.. So I decided to DIY a witch hat for myself.. I already had this beautiful puffed sleeved dress from SELKIE in a pretty peach color.. So I thought to create a witch hat to match my SELKIE dress..
The first thing that you need is some felt fabric ( at least half a meter ) Then you need a pattern I’ve used a very simple one that I find online ( I printed it out small on a piece of paper and then I tried to create the exact shapes for my own size ) It did work quite well actually.. Then for the fun part you need some tulle fabric, some sheer fabric and some pretty flowers.. I also used some textile glue to glue it all together..
The first thing that I did was to cut out the patterns see example here.. I used these shapes.. but draw them out on my sizes and cut them out.. Then I glued the top parts together so you get that cone shape.. Then I glued the bottom together and then I glued the top and bottom of the hat together (this was quite a task especially with using textile glue) maybe this part is easier when you use a glue gun or a sewing machine.. Once I had the shape of my hat.. I started to add some tulle to the hat.. I used the sheer fabric to create a bow so you can tighten the hat together from the bottom which is such a cute little detail.. Then I added the flowers on the hat to make it look pretty and then I created this beautiful witch hat.. The thing that I love about this tutorial is that it doesn’t have to be precise you just do it as you go and you just try to create a masterpiece.. something that you love to wear and looks very beautiful to you.. I had so much fun creating this hat and I cannot wait to wear it on Halloween night..
